Burns Family in Windsor Nova Scotia, 1830's - 1930's

I have created this blog to document my family history research relating to the Burns family of St. Croix, Windsor, Nova Scotia. The family was Roman Catholic and were therefore in the minority in this part of Nova Scotia during this time period. The parents, James and Johannah came from Ireland and my goal is: To find out where in Ireland both the Burns and Mulcahy families were from. James Burns was born about 1808 and Johannah Mulcahy was born about 1812. We are not sure if they were married prior to arriving in Nova Scotia or if they married after immigrating. We first find the family with children at the Curran School in the mid-1840's. In 1857, James purchased land in Windsor and I will document this further with my next post.
